As a newly qualified or experienced primary health care GP, you will work with our colleagues as part of an integrated multi-disciplinary team whilst further developing your urgent care skills.

What will you do here at Local Care Direct?
With the opportunity to work in 17 sites across West Yorkshire, you could be doing telephone triage for our NHS111 front ended service, carrying out face-to-face appointments in our Primary Care Centres (PCC) and Urgent Treatment Centres (UTC), getting involved with the Urgent Community Response service, supporting Covid patients on our CMDU service, or doing home visits with our drivers. You’ll have access to SystmOne full patient records, templates, and our internal communications which highlight clinical updates and alerts.

What will your principal duties include:

  1. To provide emergency and unscheduled care in a holistic fashion to the standards set by the GMC for good medical practice.
  2. Acceptance of patient referrals from other health & social care organisations for advice, assessment or treatment.
  3. Appropriate referral of patients, when clinically indicated, to other healthcare organisations for specialist assessment and care.
  4. Treatment of patients in the Local Care Direct primary care centres.
  5. Home visiting of patients, accompanied by a driver assistant, for medical assessment, diagnosis and treatment.
  6. To keep accurate and comprehensive electronic records of all patient interaction, assessment and treatment.
  7. To communicate effectively with other members of the Local Care Direct integrated multi-disciplinary team.
  8. To participate in personal, professional and organisational performance review.
  9. To maintain awareness and compliance with Local Care Direct policies and procedures.
  10. To accept and adhere to the Local Care Direct Sessional Charter for Doctors working sessions.
