When your GP surgery is closed you want to know that you’ll still get the care you need if you have an urgent health problem, but it’s not urgent enough for A&E.

Working in partnership with the NHS111 service in the Yorkshire and Humber region, we provide specialist urgent care services for West Yorkshire and the Craven district of North Yorkshire.

In fact, we are looking after you for 115 hours every week:

LCD King Street Walk in Centre is a nurse led service and has a dedicated team of experienced health practitioners. We provide assessment, advice and treatment of minor illnesses and a selection of minor injuries.

Below are examples of illnesses/injuries we can see:
•          Minor ear, nose and throat problems
•          Sprains and strains
•          Wound infections
•          Minor burns and scalds
•          Minor head injuries
•          Skin conditions
•          Minor respiratory conditions such as cough
•          Mild abdominal pain or discomfort
•          Insect and animal bites and stings
•          Minor eye problems
•          Minor injuries to the back, shoulder and chest
•          Wound dressings
•          Emergency contraception

Details
Local Care Direct provides an out-of-hours service for patients once your surgery has closed. Our service is located through the patient entrance via the minor injuries unit entrance. Please report to reception stating your name and appointment time given by 111.

The Urgent Treatment Centre (UTC) has a minor injury service running as per the times listed above. The minor injury unit can deal with cuts, bites, sprains, bone, muscle or joint injuries. The service can support you with less severe minor injuries and minor illness. X-Ray facilities are available on site and is available daily until 20:30. The UTC has a primary care service running between Mon-Fri 08.00 – 18.00, this can see acute (a sudden, not long standing) minor illness. However, the service does not see babies under 6 weeks old or deal with pregnancy related conditions.

The Urgent Treatment Centre (UTC) will see patients with urgent illness (except babies under 6 weeks old or deal with pregnancy related conditions) which cannot wait for you to see your own GP; and minor injuries including cuts, bites, sprains, bone, muscle or joint injuries. X-Ray facilities are available until 20:30. The UTC also offers appointment-only GP services on weekday evenings between 18:00 and 23:00 and between 08:00 and 23:00 at weekends. The GP services are accessible by ringing your own GP or 111.
