I am putting pen to paper to express my gratitude to Local Care Direct’s out-of-hours GP service; it is nothing short of superb. On New Year’s Day I was taken ill and my family called 111, which brought a lady doctor to my door within a relatively short space of time. This very caring, very personable, lady doctor gave me a most thorough medical examination I have ever received in my 84 years, carried out with reassuring confidence that left me in no doubt that my health issues were in very good hands. Furthermore, after diagnosing the problem the doctor went over and above the call of duty to return to my home within 20 mins with the medication necessary to begin immediate treatment. This act, coupled with the outstanding level of care, is worthy of the highest praise – my family and I are full of gratitude for your doctor’s actions and you are all a credit to the NHS. Our sincere thanks to the attending doctor and I’m sure she will be pleased to hear that her analysis and prescribed treatment had me quickly back on my feet.
