What is Urgent Primary Care?

Urgent primary care helps patients who have an illness or injury that requires urgent attention but is not a life-threatening situation.

Between 1 April 2022 and 31 March 2023, we provided 21 services to a population of 5.4 million across Yorkshire and the Humber, and 715,922 patient cases came through to our teams. Click on the images below to find out more about our services.

Emergency Department Streaming

We provide on-site support to Emergency Departments (ED) in Airedale, Calderdale and Huddersfield to help them with patients who attend with a primary care need. Leeds Emergency Departments can also refer people into our Urgent Treatment Centres.

GP/Clinician Out Of Hours

Our Out of Hours service operates when GP Surgeries are closed, providing care primarily through initial remote clinical triage. Patients may be offered a clinical consultation and advice over the telephone if this is appropriate.  Some patients may be offered a face to face appointment in one of our network of local primary care centres or a home visit for the more seriously ill.
